Head Staff for Arizona Camp

There are many basic elements of Jewish life that are taken for granted, both large and small. For the majority of Chabad Shluchim living outside established Jewish communities, these basics become luxuries they rarely experience.

For the child of a Shliach living in a small town or foreign city, spending time at an overnight camp is just one of these luxuries. They rarely have friends who understand the hardship of growing up in this environment.

The international Shluchim Camp, held each winter in Arizona, was created to fill the void, allowing children of shluchim an opportunity to spend quality time with other children who not only understand their situation but share the same challenges.

Avremi Wolf of Morristown, NJ, and Levi Shemtov of Montevideo, Uruguay, will be the head counselors of the boys division.

While Mushkie Namdar from Goteborg, Sweden, and another unreported girl will be the head counselors of the girls division.

Both camps for the children of Shluchim – boys ages 8 to 13 and girls ages 7 to 12 – are held in the small mountain town of Oracle, but on separate ranches.

The camp is run under the auspices of Rabbi Moshe Pinson of the Shluchim Office and in cooperation with Rabbi Yossie Shemov, Regional Director of Chabad of Tucson.

Camp begins Monday, Kislev 23 / December 19 and ends on Thursday Teves 3 / December 29. Registration closes in a week and can be done at Shluchim.org/Arizona.
