ותשובה ותפלה וצדקה מעבירין את רע הגזרה
Today, your generosity can make תשפ”ה the year of פֹּה, the here and now.
There are Yidden in Crown Heights with urgent needs today–right here, right now. Thousands of them will enter Avraham Avinu’s Tent this Tishrei, turning to Reb Moshe Rubashkin for hot food at all hours, overnight accommodations, showers, money, low-cost pantry staples, freshly-juiced veggie drinks, and–perhaps most remarkably–community. The Rebbe’s treasured Orchim are relying on the hachansas orchim of Reb Rubashkin. His guests are the Rebbe’s guests, which means they’re the guests of every member of Anash throughout Crown Heights.
A year of פֹּה requires a here-and-now assessment, both a personal cheshbon and a collective awareness of where we are holding as a nation. The challenges of תשפ”ד brought Am Yisroel together in an unprecedented way. With help from Hashem, we have overcome radical hatred with radical love for our fellow Jew–let us continue to leverage this koach.
Take action. Create a kli for rachamim, parnasa, and tremendous bracha in your life by participating in the ultimate chessed: hachnasas orchim. Kindness shown to another Yid draws Hashem’s full attention–and what happens in shamayim reflects what goes on below.
If תשפ”ד felt extreme to you (first of all, congratulations, this means you’ve been paying attention)…then the only solution is to answer in kind.
Dig a little deeper. Speak a little kinder. Spend more time with the people who matter. Step up the ahavas Yisroel. Support the (only) hachnasas orchim operation where the orchim are the personal guests of the ba’al habayis throughout the entire Tishrei.
This is the time to be radical with giving, extreme with tzedakah. Right here, right now.

One that serves the entire community without batting an eye or charging a dollar?
There must be a gute mishugener running a major ahavas Yisroel operation around here somewhere. It’s Crown Heights, after all…
