Harmony Comes to Kingston Ave.

Harmony, which has established separate women’s and men’s day habilitation programs, is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities.

Harmony participants in both Kinor Dovid and Kinor Malka programs receive vocational training and a variety of shiurim and classes, in a warm, caring family environment.

Open 6 days a week and evenings, the program aims to bring out the full potential of every individual whom they service. Many of the individuals in both programs come from the Crown Heights community.

In an effort to raise critical funds, Harmony Services has teamed up with JRunners, the Jewish fitness and health organization, in their 5K (5 Kilometer) RFC (Run For a Cause) race, to be held this coming Sunday, April 1, in Prospect Park. The concept behind the RFC fundraising tool is simple: The cause (in this case, Harmony) recruits as many runners as possible, who, in turn, find sponsors to donate to their cause. The runner must commit to bring in a minimum of $200 in pledges to qualify to be part of this event.

Over the last few weeks, groups of Kinor Dovid staff-members and individuals have been visiting various frum shopping areas, including our own Kingston Avenue, in an effort to sign up more runners for the 5K RFC.
