House GOP lawmakers are seeking this week to oust Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota from her committee assignments as Democrats push for similar action against embattled Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, Fox News reported.
The House is set to consider a measure this week that calls for Taylor Greene, a controversial first-term lawmaker known for her support of the QAnon conspiracy theory, from her assignment on the Education and Labor Committee.
A proposed GOP-backed amendment to that measure calls for Omar, frequently identified as a member of the “Squad” of progressive Democrats, to be removed from her committee assignments “in light of conduct she has exhibited,” Fox News congressional correspondent Chad Pergram reported. In the amendment, Republicans argue that Omar has made anti-Semitic comments that are grounds for dismissal.
Reps. Brian Babin (R-TX), Jeff Duncan (R-SC), Jody Hice (R-GA), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Ronny Jackson (R-TX) sponsored the proposed amendment.
In Feb. 2019, Omar triggered an uproar after she wrote, “It’s all about the Benjamins baby” in response to a tweet referencing House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s pledge to take “action” against her over her criticism of Israel. Later, Omar suggested that American Israel Public Affairs Committee, or AIPAC, was paying politicians to take a favorable stance toward Israel.
Omar’s remarks drew bipartisan criticism in Congress. She later apologized and thanked colleagues for “educating [her] on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes.”

In the past, Omar has sparked backlash for “anti-American” statements, after remarks she made about 9/11.
In February of 2019, a clip of an old interview resurfaced, in which Omar was seen joking about people saying “Al Qaeda” and “Hezbollah” in a severe tone — while noting nobody says words like “America” that way.
“When I was in college, I took a terrorism class. … The thing that was interesting in the class was every time the professor said ‘Al Qaeda’ his shoulders went up,” Omar said during an interview from 2013 when she was an activist within the Somali community, chuckling as she imitated the professor saying “Al Qaeda” and “Hezbollah.”
Omar went on to contrast the way people say the names of terror groups with how they pronounce the names of western powers:
“But you know, it is that you don’t say ‘America’ with an intensity, you don’t say ‘England’ with the intensity. You don’t say ‘the army’ with the intensity,” she continued. “… But you say these names [Al Qaeda] because you want that word to carry weight. You want it to be something.”

To even attempt to compare Marjorie Taylor Greene to Rep. Ilhan Omar is a joke.
Omar is fighting for equality and truth both in America and Israel, and she is willing to own up to her mistakes.
Greene is an insane conspiracy cult leader who is calling for the murders of Democratic officials and who is losing support within her own party. Greene is an anti-Semite, preaching about Jewish lasers in the sky?! Saying that Covid is fake?! Denying school shootings?! The woman is unstable.

Omar made many antisemitic comments before, she is much worse than Greene who unlike Omar isn’t trying to stop Jews defending themselves, or justifying terrorism. It makes no sense to have an issue with one antisemite but praise a much worse one.
Omar apologized for her anti-Semitism and voted to pass a bill that would restrict discriminatory language.

Not true at all. She’s made numerous antisemitic comments that she hasn’t apologized for such as claiming that Jews have dual allegiance and sending out leaflets to her district highlighting Jews who contributed to her opponent.

I think the question needs to be asked. Why is it that this story, which is really just an attempt at a deflection from a few select reps, is the one that is published? While the actual real story, the MTG issue, is just mentioned here in passing. There is no Ilhan Omar story, even most Republicans, while having concerns about some of her beliefs, would never put her on the same plane as MTG, let alone considering taking any action with regards to her place on committees.

I think your question is an attempt to deflect from Omar’s antisemitism. Omar is MUCH more dangerous. Greene is not attempting an antisemitic boycott. She’s not trying to stop Jews defending themselves. She doesn’t justify terrorism. Omar has done all those things which makes her far more dangerous.
Greene is promoting the idea that Jews are responsible for the California wildfires because we have lasers in the sky. Green called a victim of a school shooting an actor. Greene can be heard on video calling for the death of Nancy Pelosi and the lynching of President Obama. Greene is spreading the lie that the election was rigged and played a part in the terrorist attack of January 6th. Who is the real threat?

It’s up to you to prove that the election was rigged. Considering countless courts run by both political parties couldn’t find any evidence, I highly doubt that you could find any either. This election was legitimate, BH President Biden won, welcome to democracy.
If those “countless courts” had looked at the evidence, held a hearing, and then decided that the claims have no merit, then that would be one thing. But they did no such thing; they dismissed them with specious claims of “too late,” or “no standing,” and so forth.
