Girls Seminaries Joint Event

Students of 4 Chabad girls seminaries in Israel attended a Siyum Harambam ceremony at the gravesite of the author of the Mishne Torah in the city of Teveria.

Most of the girls hail from North America and elsewhere and are in the holy land for a full year.

They were greeted by Rabbi Yosef Kremer, the Shliach in the city, who noted that during Matan Torah on Mount Sinai the women received the Torah before the men.

“Now too, on Motzoei Shabbos, the girls are making a Siyum a day before the men which will be held on Sunday,” he said.

The event preceded an inspiring annual Shabbaton called “Shabbos Aryeh Leib” at seminary Bais Chana in Tzfas, in memory of the late Rabbi Leibel Kaplan, OBM.

Over 300 students attended the uplifting weekend with the guest speaker Rabbi Zalman Kaplan, Adult Education Director at Montreal Torah Center in Canada and son of Tzfas’ late Head Shliach.

Other speakers included Rabbis Yaakov Goldshmidt, Yosef Yitzchak Piekarski, Yosef Rosenfeld, Yosef Chitrik, Chaim Kaplan and Sholom Dovber Hertzel.
