Bais Rebbe Junior High of Los Angeles, California, held a mother and daughter brunch in Honor of Yud Alef Cheshvan; the yartzeit of Rochel Imeinu.
The girls prepared a special presentation of the special women throughout history. Beginning with Sara Imeinu, up until the woman of today, the girls spoke about the unique qualities we can learn from each of the righteous women.
Rochel Imeinu, Miriam, Devora Haneiva, Rus, Yehudis, Rebbetzein Devora Leah and Rebbetzein Chana are but a few of the woman whom the girls presented.
The girls were very enthusiastic and eager to fulfill their roles under the guidance of their dedicated and talented teacher Mrs. Sara Jacobs.
“One of the goals of Bais Rebbe is to bring out the talents from within each one of our girls and encourage them to shine in their respective ways,” said Malka Seewald, the school’s Judaic principal. “Today’s presentation brought out the unique talents in the girls; enabling each one to learn from the noshim tzadkonius in an interesting and meaningful way.”
Mrs. Chanie Pinson, a mother of a Bais Rebbe student, spoke about Rochel Imeinu. She explained that when the Yidden were exiled from the Holy Land, broken and in despair they found their way to Rachel’s kever. They prayed with bitter tears and cried to Rachel to intercede on their behalf. The Navi Yirmiyahu lived during Galus Bavel. In his nevuah he describes the many tears that Rochel Imeinu cried for her children. During this exile the Avos, Imahos and Moshe Rebeinu all approached Hashem and begged him for mercy for the Yidden. However no amount of beseeching helped, it was only because of Rochel’s tears did Hashem give us a promise of Redemption.
The morning continued with a the girls singing a heatfelt song of “Mame Rochel,” beseeching Rochel Imeinu to daven for us once again for the Geula Shelaima.
A beautiful buffet was prepared by the mothers and was enjoyed by all.
