Johanna Robison, a student of Grade 5 at the Torah School of Greater Washington, DC, has won finalist status in the Doodle 4 Google 2012 contest in the 4-5 Grade category.
The resident of Brookeville, MD, was chosen as a State Winner from a total of over 114,000 entries for the competition open to K-12 students of U.S. schools to design their variation of the Google logo.
This year’s theme for the doodles was “If I could travel in time, I’d visit…” and the Orthodox Jewish girl wrote the following description for her drawing:
“Several generations ago, things were not mass produced as they are today. Instead, many items had to be handmade. If I could travel in time, I’d visit my Hungarian ancestors and receive needlecraft lessons from experts whose homes and livelihoods centered on this unique talent.”
As she vies for votes to become the National Winner, her Lubavitch classmates emailed COLlive.com asking for readers to vote for her.
The Torah School of Greater Washington – where children of Shluchim in Virginia, DC and Maryland currently learn – will receive a $50,000 grant if Robison wins.
Vote for Johanna Robison here. Voting ends May 10, 2012 5:00 pm.

I voted for that one before this post went up, for the same reasons as comment 15.
I think it actually is the best one up there. It’s the only one that uses the letters themselves as the image, has proper shading and lines & you can read “google” from the image
