Chele Farley, the Republican challenging the incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand for the United States Senate seat representing New York, will be meeting and speaking to Crown Heights residents this week.
The “Community Introduction” event will be hosted by Yossi and Chana Hackner on Wednesday, August 1st at 8pm as an opportunity for local residents to familiarize themselves with the candidate.
Participants will hear about the candidate’s positions on education such as school vouchers, lower taxes, Israel, the economy, foreign relations and on the leadership of President Donald Trump.
“This is only an introductory meeting for the community,” an organizer told COLlive.com. “Participants will not be required to take a political position. This is just to hear the candidate’s pitch and to provide input as to which issues will be important to our community in the mid-term elections.”
COLlive was told that the frum Jewish community of Brooklyn may be in a unique position to provide a swing vote in either direction in November 2018 since in a state-wide election either Republican or Democrat has a chance to win (unlike local district races).
Farley, who recently visited Israel and met with US Ambassador David Friedman, held similar meetings in Boro Park, Williamsburg, Flatbush, and Marine Park. As reported, she visited the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens.

Reb Shlomo, let’s be realistic. You didn’t collect enough signatures to be on the ballot, so you’re running as a write-in candidate. Which means that your chances of getting elected are effectively zero. Whereas your chances of being a “spoiler” in the race, and diverting some precious few votes to a lost cause – and thus keeping Gillibrand, anti-Israel and anti-common sense that she is, in office – are higher. Is it really worth it to sell out your fellow Jews for the sake of stroking your ego? Work on developing a base – at least getting enough signatures –… Read more »
Will Iy’h be voting for Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. She has been doing a great job.
BS”D The man (# 6 ) has a point, let him speak
Let’s see if COL will invite me, a Baal Teshuvah to speak to you as well. I am the only Levite, Baal Teshuvah, father of a multiply disabled daughter, Veteran, follower of the Rebbe running for US Senate. Will you give me a chance to speak? I support Chabad in many ways over the years and deserve to at least speak. The blurb about her visiting the Ohel? I’ve cried at the Ohel during Gimmel Tammuz..she has NO CLUE. I deserve at LEAST to be heard. As far as visiting Israel? I have had meetings with Knesset members on everything… Read more »
Can she help with our ridiculous tuition crisis?
We must get rid of Gillibrand. We have to teach her a lesson that you can’t stab Israel in the back and still represent New York.
She’s literally the most pro israel and pro religious liberty candidate that has ever ran for senate!
Gillibrand is anti-Israel. We all have to vote for Farley.
BS”D Hope she wins
