What do the Maccabees and Giants have in common?
Sunday, football fans from across the tristate area headed to the New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles game to complete their Thanksgiving weekend.
As they neared the stadium’s entrance fans were greeted with a giant Menorah, joyous Chanukah music and 15 Yeshivah students doing mivtzoim.
Rabbi Yitzchok Lerman of Chabad of The Meadowlands in New Jersey arranged with stadium security for the Menorah to be parked in a prime location at the stadium’s entrance.
As a Maggid Shiur in Morristown’s Zal, he invited his students to conduct mivtzoim at the stadium. The grand Menorah was built by Ashi Seper and together with his peers they gave out a hundred Mivtoim Menorahs.
Just as the Maccabees won the war, the NY Giants won 13-7 against the Philadelphia Eagles!
