This past Tuesday night, The Brooklyn Geshem Center held its first Wine and Cheese Fundraiser, where the center’s achievements and future vision for the Crown Heights Community were presented to all those in attendance.
Rabbi Levi Kaplan, Executive Director, spoke about the great success of the Spring Semester, with five successful courses running concurrently on many different topics.
Crown Heights Jewish Community Council Chairman Zaki Tamir spoke about the vision for Geshem in the future, including great new programs for employers looking to hire.
Participants at the event were informed that due to the great success of the program, an anonymous donor has agreed to subsidize the upcoming courses in Graphic Design, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Investing and Markets, Basic Computing and GED Preparatory Course.
Because of this sponsorship, the price for future courses has been lowered to the original lower spring prices, making the center more accessible to those in need. The courses for the upcoming Summer Semester commence on Monday, July 11, 2011.
Geshem has also announced upcoming workshops/seminars on various topics including Buying/Selling on Ebay, How To Start Your Own Business, Adult CPR + FirstAid, Sushi Making and more.
