Yarmulke

What does it matter if he is wearing a yarmulke? When Lubavitch has its own pianist who is more talented, named Gershon Wachtel, why hire someone who openly goes without a yarmulke and is promoted as an orthodox performer?

#14 was correct that Mr. Wachtel is one of the best kept secrets in Jewish music.

first of all it shows that at this day and age after all the nigunim none of the music has been allowed to impact and therefore impairs the whole conveying of the music and delivery one of the main features that make chabad nigunim unique is the culture of mesiras nefesh (its not fun) but has seasoned and aged the expression and lilt of the music to be very fervent enthusiastic and earnest maybe we should go with a better person who can better convey the nigunim

GO TOBY!!!!WOW!!!!!

Went to the link and…WAS MESMERIZED!

Wachtel is a genious. Never seen or heard anything like that.

I agree with above….Rivkin would do well to hook-up with
Wachtel and he would be worth every penny. It’s funny how they are both probably one of the best kept secrets on the Jewish music scene. What a shame!

they'v got talent

Yes I think Gershon Wachtel is just as talented as Yaron. Here is a link to see for yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGBS4Y3Gnh8

i am looking forward to your new cd but am equally if not a bit more waiting for the new english mayer rivkin cd album. being that i am told that you are doing the musical arrangements for the rivkin cd, i was wondering if you could tell me when this cd will be released. also, i agree with no. 6. if the piano player does not have the hergesh to put on a yarmulke, what kind of a feeling and hergesh can he have to do a chassidishe niggun. unless any type of music is all the same to… Read more »

AMAZING!!

It amazes me how people are able to create such beauty with just 10 fingers!!! the up-close footage of his fingers literally dancing and skipping across the keys was a pleasure to watch!
#1 – it says in the caption that the clarinetist is Chilik Frank.
I think the last picture was captioned out of order.
