The fourth annual dinner for Oholei Chinuch Schools of Argentina took place recently at the Palace Frers Hall in Buenos Aires.
The event began with an elegant reception, decorated with high tables, chairs and armchairs, and candlight.
After being seated in the main hall, the MC for the evening Fabian Rosenthal began the program.
A video was shown and the guests were encouraged to pay attention, because later on in the program participants were quizzed on the content, which they answered by raising a flashlight provided at each chair.
Those who answered were entered into a raffle for the book “Seeds of Wisdom” by Rabbi Mendel Kalmenson.
Mr. Avraham Deitsch then recited the bracha to begin the meal.
Rabbi Tzvi Grunblatt, Head Shliach of Argentina, then said a few words to those present.
The highlight of the evening was a presentation by American educator Dr. David Lazerson, known as “Dr. Laz” who regaled participants with stories of his work in special education.
Dr. Laz is an educator who has changed the lives of thousands as a writer, musician and teacher, and specialist in conflict resolution.
Dr. Laz told various stories of the boys who he had as students, many of whom were violent and had different problems, who he had helped. He praised the work of the teachers, and performed for the crowd on his guitar.
Bouquets and awards were given to those who had made the event possible, and to various teachers.
On leaving participants received gift bags with handiwork of children in Oholei Torah Schools.
