900 people crowded the Sérgio Cardoso Theater in Sao Paulo on Monday for a concert featuring Israeli music star Gaz Elbaz in his first appearance in Brazil.
The event benefited Chabad’s Ten Yad charitable organization, with the its vice-director Rabbi Berel Weitman welcoming the crowd with a blessing for the new Jewish year.
Elbaz charmed the audience with his excitement, joy and enthusiasm and presented his great songs as ‘Heshem Melech, Esh Shel Moshiach, Open Up and a special version of the classic Hava Naguila.
He sang while mingling with the audience and invited children to the stage to accompany him. After the show, Elbaz hung out in the lobby of the theater for photos, autographs and to chat with fans.

On the following night, Elbaz sang for 300 members of TenYad young professionals group (TYP), followed by a conversation about the economic crisis in Brazil with one of the most important journalist of Brazil, Reinaldo Azevedo. Participants also got to learn about the social work of the institution.
