We find ourselves in the midst of the time of year that 12th grade Lubavitcher girls are filling out their application forms, and hoping to be accepted in one of the Lubavitch Seminaries around the world.
Parents are wondering how to come up with the money, to cover the tuition, airline tickets, and spending money, that it will cost to send their daughter away for this pivotal year of her life.
As some families struggle with whether their daughters will be able to go to seminary altogether, and many families have even totally ”given up” on ever sending their daughters to Seminary, one Seminary is taking steps to alleviate some of the pressure on both the girls and the parents.
The Chaya Aydel Seminary in Hallandale Beach, Florida (CAS) is entering its 12th (Bas Mitzvah) year of excellence in education.
CAS has become well known for its well rounded program and Chassidishe environment. The involved and caring administration, the dynamic diversified faculty, the warmth and individualized focus have inspired the growth of over 250 students who have walked through its doors since its inception in 2002. A large percentage of CAS graduates are Shluchos, Rebbetzins, and Teachers in Yeshivas and Jewish Day Schools all over the world.
The Chaya Aydel Seminary has decided to increase the number of students that it will accept for the coming school year by 10-15 girls from its current limit of 25, while putting into place, a 10% to 20% scholarship for all Anash families that are in need due to financial hardship.
This is in addition to not raising the modest $12,000 tuition cost (that includes room and board) for the 8th year in a row bringing the total modified tuition (if certain criteria is met) to as low as $9,600!
The Seminary hopes that this will help make it easier for numerous families as they prepare for the upcoming year.
For more information about the Chaya Aydel Seminary and about this unique scholarship opportunity, and to apply, please log on to www.chayaaydelsem.com or call (954) 458-1877 or (954) 826-7979 . Seminary Principal is third generation Mechanech par excellence, Rabbi Yossy Lebovics, Dean of the Seminary is the head Shliach of South Broward, Rabbi Raphael Tennenhaus.
For parents and 12th graders interested in some feedback from CAS graduates and CAS parents, here is a sampling of accolades gleaned from ongoing correspondence with CAS families:
It’s not just the physical aspects that were really great, but the inspiration of living with girls from all over the world and Farbrenging with so many dynamic Shluchim….Chaya
Chaya Aydel was a life changing experience. The staff and girls are incredibly warm and friendly. If they had Shana Beis, Gimmel and Daled, I”d grow old there ;)…Penina
The trust and the time that they take to get to know each girl as an individual and believe in them allows them to exceed every expectation and brings out their Chassidishkeit in a very positive way…Esther, a grateful parent
I appreciate the individual care for each student. The staff ensures to bring out each girls’ strengths by believing in them and motivating them, enabling them to grow. The Gashmius setting that the Seminary provides, allows the girls to feel good and excel in their spiritual growth. The personalized learning, the open communication and conversations, adds to the tochen of the learning. There are standards for all levels of learning. Bayis Yehudi is wonderful and down to earth – Mrs. Fass
The attitude of the Lebovics’ are so different and refreshing. Their warmth and approach towards the students are consistent with Chassidus and according to the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov.
When someone tells you that they went to a school that they grew in – you know they did something right – Rabbi and Mrs. Greenberg
Rabbi and Mrs. Lebovics are fabulous. Both my daughters had an incredible year. My daughter Mushky gave Shiurim and experienced so much that enabled her to go on Shlichus and be successful . This seminary gives the girls a time to come to themselves. My daughters went through an eye opening experience by learning Chassidus for the first time. The students are able to have a learning experience, while living with other girls and doing programs together, which is a very big step towards maturity. – Mrs. Marris
My daughter had an exceptional and maturing experience, so much so that she wanted to come back as a dorm counselor. It was a year full of growth, and I was very happy as a parent. – Mrs. Benjaminson
The incredible staff and Shlichus oriented program were key to my personal growth. The teaching courses were very insightful and practical for future experiences. We worked closely with the community and established warm lasting friendships. – Aidy Matusof.
My daughter was more than worried, especially since most of her friends went to Israel. Yet after a very short time, she felt comfortable, cared for, relaxed and inspired. We couldn’t be more pleased. – a grateful parent
I am grateful that I made the decision to spend my seminary year at CAS. The entire experience, from the friends I made to the devoted and caring staff, all contributed to a really great year that will remain with me forever – Devorah Epstein.
An amazing sem expirience. Great classes, teachers, and shluchim! The Lebovics are amazing people. They make the seminary what it is!
Parents should not dismiss their daughters wishes if they prefer to stay for Sem closer to home.
great sem in montreal! dont have to spend so much money when you have a great sem next door ! went there last year
We love you Deena Rosenzweig!!!!
as a Crown Heights father of 3 girls who went to Florida Seminary, I was impressed by their non-judgemental, non-elitism, and non-machlokes environment…even when promoting the values of going on Shlichus, they never made my daughters feel that if they don’t go on Shlichus they are “second class”
Miss you Ita looks like you are having a blast 🙂
I wish Chaya Aidel would also have a Sem Beis
as a mother of two girls who went to CAS, what I liked most was 1) night classes every night, 2) Hanhola always knows where the girls are, even on an off Shabbos. If you want peace of mind, Florida is your best choice.
the lebovics’s have a most amaizing support team in the likes of rabbi and mrs tennenhaus rabbi and mrs schwartz rabbi and mrs feiner and the rest of the chabad of south broward team of shlucim
Rabbi and Mrs Lebovics are a dynamic duo in the Seminary and Chinuch world. Together with the incredible Shluchim in Hallandale, the Sem students get the best of Chinuch and Shlichus.
I went to Chaya Aydel Seminary in 2006/2007 and BH my friends and I all made great Shidduchim. Parents shouldn’t pressure their children to go to overseas Seminary for the sake of a better Shidduchim. This backfires many times.
Only good memories from Sem in Hallandale. It’s a real Chassidishe community, with many Shluchim and Shluchos to look up to.
CAS has tapped in to the most talented, learned and experienced teachers in South Florida. The Florida Seminary is another dimension of the Rebbe referring to Miami as the Jerusalem of the USA
hey sara and rivka!!!! guess who!!!! ☺☻☺☻☺
anyone who says Seminary is a luxury and not a necessity, is clearly unfamiliar with the Rebbe instructing countless times girls in High School to absolutely go to Seminary
Lets just put this simply: if you think that a good shidduch comes from a good sem, then you clearly need to brush up your life priorities… Plus all you out there who feel this way need to stop impressing this upon 12th grade girls who may not feel like they fit the mold of the Israel sems, but are hesitant to go else ware because “Im not gonna get a good shidduch”…this is NOT OK! Everything is bashert, and g-d will help you find your bashert REGAURDLESS OF WAT SEM YOU WENT TO!

WE MISS YOU DERAYS!
GO SARA AND RIVKA!! Is everyone else really short or are you two just really tall?
i love u!!!
♥CM
GOOD SEMINARY=GOOD SHIDDUCH.
If the boy you are looking in,, isn’t interested because of the sem you went to, he clearly isn’t the one for you.
why else did the Rebbe strongly encourage it…countless times? as to Shidduchim….the myth of getting a better Shidduch by going to an Israeli Seminary has evaporated long ago…the Oilam isnot a Golem…
I’m speaking from experience here, let’s just say, the Lebovics are amazing and make the seminary what it is today!
We miss you so much in Chicago girl! Mwaaaa.
That is how the “system” works. The boy’s parents want to know which sem u went to and you are judged based on your sem. If it is Tzfas or Yerushalyim them you are Grade A quality and it goes downhill from there. The “system” is sick but if you want a good shidduch you need to go to a “good” seminary.
I miss you soooo much !!!!!
Come back home soon
Sarah! Bais Chaya is not the same with out you! Come back! Your coming to my production right? And your bringing all your friends k? Miss youuu soooo much!
Are you at all familiar with the Rebbe’s many answers to high school girls to ABSOLUTELY go to Seminary?
Let the post high school girls be encouraged to stay at home in-town and learn extra Torah along with household duties. In the long run, the discipline will be better, as EVERY DAY – Torah and Good Middos should be practised at home base. I’ve seen loads of post-seminary girls just go for the social aspect only to return back home and not treat their parents or friends with Respect!!!! Did the Seminary teach these girls anything?? What a waste of the parent’s hard earned dollars.
you guys are awesome!!!
missing you !!
MISSING YOU!!!!!!!!!!
Not only could rabbi lebovic run the seminary amazingly, he also has a very talented voice. So much so that he sang the national anthem at the Miami heat game!!!

Hey sheina!
We miss you!
Enjoyyyyyyyy xx
La sem will be getting grants as soon as they are accredited.. in the meantime they are working with families on an individual basis, if those girls are eligible… you cant compare cost of living and salaries and anything in LA to florida, montreal, or wherever else…
Me too!
Why are we paying these hugely overpriced amounts if this Sem is managing, and it woud appear, really well, on $9000?? isnt it about time, things changed and we dont have to go into debt because of sending our girls away, as was mentioned by 35 already, something here doesnt seem too clear , and as a result 100’s of us are sufferimg
ITA D! WE LOVE AND MISS U SO MUCHHHH!!!! LOOKS LIKE U HAVING AN AWESOME TIME IN SEM!

Sweet Heart!
I spot chany borenstein!looking great!
Why do most seminary’s charge 15,000-16,000 if this seminary can survive with charging 9,600- 12,000?
AD MASAI! I AM A PARENT THAT SENT ALL HER FIVE GIRLS TO C.A.S..AND LET ME TELL YOU..ITS AFFORDABLE,CHASSIDISHE AND THE GIRLS REALLY REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL..MUCH NICHES.
Shosh you finally made it in the Chabad world, your on col!!!!
Ita Greenberg!!! Looks like you’re loving seminary!
ur awesome
the girls see firsthand so many Shluchim working together with Ahavas Yisroel…a breath of fresh air…and an eye opener for so many…
the tuition crisis is in some degree self inflicted and the parents shoulder at least as much responsibility as the “leadership” everyone shouts about. I can’t bear parents who tell me they are going broke b/c they are spending $18k to send their daughter to seminary plus travel and of course they need to be back for pesach and the annual trip to kovorim etc. These parents then can’t afford the basics for their kids at home, or the tuitions for their kids in high school or elementry. When asked why don’t you send your kids to seminary xyz that… Read more »

TF xxxxxxx
So good to see you (even if it’s only a picture online) 🙂 🙂
hi sweetheart we miss u xxxxx
Woudnt it be a good thing if now other sems would take on the idea, and lower their prices also, allowing us parents, some leeway to ‘breathe and de -stress’ about the financial aspect of the sems. Most of us, if not all of us, are in the same boat, and it would be a most welcome and very much appreciated move for the parents
ita and nichy missss you!!!!
Maybe its about time, that the other seminaries take an example and lower their going rates too; Most of us are struggling on a year to year basis, most of us have b”h,both sons and daughters going to Seminary/yeshiva; Most of us CANNOT cope with the Seminary financial demands. They are now opening a new Seminary in LA that is asking for $14.000!!! How many of us can pay that, and yet each of us wants the best for our children. and THATS without airfares etc . . . In Israel, at least, there is Masah, which is a grant that… Read more »
you look amazing!!!!!!!!!! xx
Most seminaries are expensive and don’t offer any or much subsidy as opposed to the school system where each child is accepted, regardless. So yes, seminary is not financially feasible for many families.
Chaya Aydel seminary is the best kept secret I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a real great all around seminary experience my daughter had a most amazing year of growth and learning
I spy… CMK!
great for you deena!!!!
Chaya Mushka Kahanov is the BEST!!! the most devoted and caring person ever…..
I MISS YOU!!!!!!!
regards from a postville friend 🙂
I went there a few years ago. Even if the tuition was 25,000 dollars, it would be worth it. The Lebovics are so caring, and they provide such a warm and Chassidish environment, giving only love to the girls.
Goo shterna Azoulayyyyyy !!!!!!!!
Every single person affiliated with this Mosad , should continue flourish and give the Rebbe alot of Chassidisha nachas! Chaya Aydel is looking down and shepping alot nachas!
Thank you so much, but how can a Anash family with 10 children come up with $10,000.Its insanity. And that’s after getting a ‘groisa toiva”.The $ is simply not there. Then after seminary its time for a Chasunah.THE SYSTEM IS BROKEN!We need leadership to fix it.
Missing you!
They really care for every student!
Go Tuvel and Lion! Miss ya guys!
