5 Chassidic discourses delivered by the 3rd Rebbe of Chabad Lubavitch, also known as the Tzemach Tzedek, is being published this week for the first time.
Some of the short talks, “Maamorim Ktzorim” have been a written by the Rebbe himself (1789-1866) or his official scribes and were available only as manuscripts.
“Some were printed in (the book) Ohr Torah but many were only available in a handwritten bichel (booklet),” said Rabbi Chaim Shaul Brook, Director of Lahak – editors of the current 7th Rebbe’s teaching.
It was he who said of the Tzemach Tzedek’s work “Ohr HaTorah” that it contains all the previous and future teachings of the Chabad Rebbes.
Working from hand-written documents, Rabbis Eli Matusof and Gavriel Shapiro of Otsar Hachassidim – a division of Kehot Publication Society – have typed the Maamorim and added footnotes.
It discusses the concept of righteous Jews sitting in Gan Eden as explained in the Zohar and other topics from the Rambam.
A first draft of with these Maamorim was published this week, sponsored by Nosson ben Chava – an anonymous Lubavitcher who appreciates printing the teachinsg of the Rebbe.
