A fire broke out in an apartment on the sixth floor of 706 Eastern Parkway early Friday morning.
Residents of the building, which is located on Eastern Parkway between Brooklyn and Kingston Avenues, were quickly evacuated.
Noone was injured in the blaze, which firefighters worked to put out.

A resident of this building described the evacuation as “completely disorganized.” Residents were NOT informed about the fire, firefighters neglected to evacuate each apartment and it looked like “a whole bunch of people doing nothing.” There were no smoke alarms in the hallways, and residents were lucky enough to know about the fire if they somehow heard the commotion (above the noise of air conditioners and normal city noise).
