Dear Crown Heights Community,
After witnessing thousands of teens from all over the world come to Crown Heights for an inspiring, energizing and connective experience, we have heard many people voice the same question: what about our teens?
This question was the leading motivator that led us to open The Space last year. We realized that though there are thousands of chabad houses giving Jewish youth the connection, community, inspiration and direction that they need, there are thousands of teens in Crown Heights who also need a Chabad House. Inspired by the Rebbes mission to make sure that no Jew is left behind, we opened The Space, giving every teenage girl and young woman in Crown Heights the exact thing that the Rebbe inspired Shluchim to give all Jews worldwide.
From 10 am to 10 pm every day, The Space is alive. In the day time, the Space is filled with the morning daily Tanya class, lunch and learns, and young women from all parts of Crown Heights coming in to chat, work, rest and play. In the afternoon, there have been daily after school programs, including yoga, pizza, art, and energizing and fun dance classes. The Space is also been open every Sunday with an expansive game room, including ping pong, x-box, and many board games.
But of course, the most important part of the Space is the people. No matter what time of day or night that you walk into The Space, you are met with a staff member who will greet you with a huge smile. The staff at The Space are present with the teens, asking how their doing, laughing together, helping with homework, farbrenging with them, and being a role model and a friend for everyone who comes inside.
Baruch HaShem, The Space recently completed a successful fundraiser, raising over 100K in just 3 days.
Reaching the goal and receiving the funds needed to continue to keep The Space open and thriving was incredible, but even more incredible, was the fact that the donations came in from almost 1000 individual donors!! The world sees The Space. Our community, and beyond, see what is happening at The Space.
They see that The Space is literally changing, and saving, lives every single day, and understand that this is a mission worth giving to.
Another amazing thing to notice is that it was The Space community themselves who showed up to raise the money. So many of the young women and teens who come to The Space created teams, and spent their afternoons making calls to get the goal to be reached for one reason: they feel the power of The Space and they want The Space to live.
We are humbled and grateful to be the shluchim who are actualizing this reality and we feel inspired and invigorated to continue to put in all our efforts to continue and expand this essential operation.
No words are adequate to express the depth of our gratitude for all of our supporters and donors who showed up to the campaign with their support. YOU are actively participating in changing the lives of thousands of girls in Crown Heights. THANK YOU!
We are humbled and grateful to be the Shluchim who are actualizing this incredible dream into a reality and we feel inspired and invigorated to continue to put in all our efforts to continue and expand this essential operation. Thank you for being with us on this journey.

The avodah of a tzadik and of a baal tshuva are different. A baal tshuva by nature of being a baal tshuva has a greater longing to come close to hashem since they were far away. When mashiach comes the tzadikim will do tshuva A baal tshuva is on a higher level than a tzadik because of their greater yearning to come close to hashem When we were at fabrengens with the rebbe in a revealed way, the rebbe brought… Read more »
