During the days of Sefira every Chabad Chossid is reminded of the call for Achdus. We all recall the Rebbe’s words, urging us not to repeat the mistake of Rabbi Akiva’s students – of not respecting each other’s understanding of their Rebbe’s teachings.
Having relearned the Rebbe’s timeless words recorded in no less than twenty five Sichos, the Rebbe’s message was taken to heart and a worldwide campaign, LubavichUnited, was launched.
The campaign is Boruch Hashem a huge success. Over 5,000 Chassidim Ka”h across the globe, have thus far signed the “Duch” to the Rebbe, joining together in committing to act with more respect to each other, as the Rebbe wants us to.

this is for you as well . while we are all busy planning our menus of delicious cakes, blintzes and lasangas, let us focus on what is really important, and join in with this amazing idea of adding in our kovod to each other, and having lots of achdus. this is the spiritual preparation for this holiday. let us give it at least equal if not as much consideration as our physical preparations

I signed the duch which means I agree on principle- that was easy- now I just have to remember and discipline myself to do it for real in my daily life consistently!

But why “last call”?
the rebbe says that the keili for all the brochos comes from sheves achim gam yacad. that causes that the love of hashem to the yidden will be in a revealed fashion, and the rebbe then says bevadai bevadai, we will get out of here may it happen NOW!!!
I had the same question, why is it called a Duch? Do we have the wrong idea of what a Duch is, or is the word just used as a general term?
Can anyone shed some light on what a Duch is suppose to be?

this can really help to bring moshiach. achdus and respecting each other even with different opinions, and getting along,witheveryone no matter who, this is what might just be the one thing we are lacking and tip the scales to actuallly bring moshiach now way before shavuos. This is a wonderful thing. But why is it called a “Duch”? A Duch is a report on what you have done and accomplished. This document is a promise for what you are going to do. A year from now (or half a year, a few months or whenever) if you write a report about what you have done to keep this promise, THAT would be a Duch.
We need Moshiach now!

It is a real beautiful thing that 5000 of us already took upon themselves to sign that they will enhance their love to their fellow chossid! But we know the rebbe was never satisfied and always demanded more! If all 5000 can get 1 other person to join the duch will have 10,000! You know how powerful that would be?! As teh article said, how can you NOT sign? With Achdus we will bring Moshaich, and we are all waiting for that, for over 2,000 years! If this is what we need, let’s DO IT!
