At one of the yeshivas erev locations, rosh chodesh Kislev was marked with a special program.
It all started Wednesday night at Agudah Shul, when the fifth grade boys – catching the contagious excitement from their chassidishe madrichim – started singing the Rosh Chodesh Kislev niggun as they prepared for Maariv. This was followed by a much lebedike davening, in the spirit of this special day.
Upon seeing the chayus and geshmak that the boys had in celebrating the Rebbe’s day, the madrichim organized a special surprise program for Thursday night.
After the usual time that the boys spent reviewing the material that they learned in Yeshiva throughout the day, they sat down to listen to special guest speaker Hatomim Mendel Bresinger, who captivated the boys with wonderful unknown details about the period after Simchas Torah leading to Rosh chodesh Kislev.
The boys then said l’chaim on grape juice and wished each other to strengthen their hiskashrus to the Rebbe, and be zoche to see the ultimate hisgalus of the Rebbe.
After singing the Rosh hodesh Kislev niggun again and a terrific Maariv, the boys received a special treat to take home.
Yeshivas erev would like to thank Hatomin Mendel Bresinger for helping to make it happen.

My children loved yeshivas erev growing up. they would go even in the bitter cold night. kol hakovod to the bachurim who give of their break time in the evening and to the force behind it all, rabbi newman and rabbi sorkin. The boys always always came home with a little bit of recognition every child came home with a gift certificate of some sort for seforim at the end of the program in the spring.
