The auspicious day of Yud Shvat was marked at Lubavitch World Headquarters – 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights throughout Shabbos with locals and guests.
They commemorated the passing of the Rebbe Rayatz and the day the Rebbe accepted the leadership of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement with the reciting of the Maamar Bosi L’gani for Chassidim.
On Motzoei Shabbos, a large Farbrengen was held in the main shul of 770 bringing together residents, Yeshiva bochurim and visitors from around the world.
Addressing it were rabbonim and Mashpiim, such as Rabbi Gershon Avtzon – Rosh Yeshiva Lubavitch in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Rabbi Michoel Tayeb, a Mashpia in the village of Kfar Chabad, Israel.
Another speaker from Israel was Chagai Angrest, a resident of Kiryat Bialik and father of Matan Angrest, a 21-year-old who is one of the many being held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza for over 100 days.
He was taken hostage into Gaza and has marked his 21st birthday in captivity. His father expressed deep concern for his wellbeing and asked the crowd at 770 to pray for his immediate return home. The crowd responded with a resounding Amen.
An additional Farbrengen was held in the small zal of 770 Eastern Parkway for American bochurim, led by Mashpia Rabbi Kuti Feldman and others.

I like the fact that this seemingly secular man connected with Chabad Lubavitch. It will be for the good.
