A special farbrengen in the Democratic Republic of the Congo marked the chassidic holiday of Yud Tes Kislev, the day the Alter Rebbe was released from Czarist prison and the day the Tanya was printed.
Organizing it was Chabad Lubavitch of Central Africa together with the Talmidim Hashluchim of Yeshivas Ohel Moshe Chabad and the Jewish Community of Kinshasa.
The Farbrengen was led by the Head Shliach to Central Africa, Rabbi Shlomo Bentolila who shared stories on how the light and teachings of Chassidus are already reaching the most remote Jewish communities and individual Jews across Central Africa.
This growth mirrors what is happening across the world thanks to the Chabad Shluchim inspired by the Rebbe’s concern for every Jew is so visible, he said.
Turning words into action, Rabbi Bentolila listed the 10 additional cities and countries that will benefit from Chabad of Central Africa’s outreach this coming Chanukah, including the Congo, Nigeria, Namibia, Angola, Ghana, Rwanda and Ethiopia.
