In the 1970s when I had one penny to my name, Heshy once gave me three candies for a penny. I was hoping for one candy. He so made my day.

When I was younger, My Grandmother used to live on Empire Blvd, so I would pass by often. I remember the showcases of candy, and the smell of the chocolate. as a kid, it was unreal. When my mother would go shopping there, He would always give us a candy. I remember his Jumbo lollipops behind the counter. If I walked into the store and only had .19 Cents, and a pack of Chew-Chews costed .25 Cents, Heshy would give it to me anyway with a smile. Mornings on the way to school

Always went to Heshys to buy Pickles, candy & fresh nosh on mornings on wait for BR school bus on Kingston to go to 2270 Ch Ave
Was always so kind to us little kids

He would run to help

It never failed to impress how Heshy would physically RUN when responding to a Hatzalah call. He would also stop mid waiting on a customer to run out of his store to clear traffic when he heard on his radio that the ambulance was heading toward Kingston.
