Yah! Say it again so more will hear! Jews coming together! In my opinion, Rabbi Krinsky set a wonderful example. Maybe he can speak to what went into his thinking when he decided to attend.
Why exactly would the rebbe have been against Jews learning Gemara and celebrating the fact that they learnt Gemara with 10,000 other Jews? What part of that do you think the rebbe was against? The learning or the achdus?
People grow up! Just because it wasn’t an event organized by chabad doesn’t make it something that the rebbe would have been against! Other communities can do things right too!
Someone should talk about the Rebbe’s Shitah. Everyone should know that the Rebbe said (not once) that he never heard fropm the Frierdiker Rebbe about learning a Daf. It is OK to leadrn a Blat everyday but not the Daf. Spesifically this answer came to Rabbi Moshe Eli Gerlitzky in Montreal when he reported to the Rebbe about the Daf that was tought by Rabbi Avraham Karp. At that time they changed the learning to a Blat a day but not the Daf. It is high time for Lubavitchers to know the Rebbes stand on matters.
Shlomo Yehuda Rechnitz is a tiereh yid. After everything he has bean thru he still supports Chabad!
Rabbi YYJ does not at all represent the Chabad movement [as was stated in earlier comments] that the Rebbe already spoke about this project the daf (Shlach 5748). it seems that Rabbi YYJ was unaware (to be melamed zchus on him) of this Sicha or was it an honor hard to turn down
The most beautiful part..
good luck finding an “authority” these days….
collive reported about a daily daf learning at 770 montgomery and i think there is one at getzel’s shul too
why “hack a chainik”?
Does anyone know where one can do the Daf, here in CH ?
100k saying yechi the geula would be here
Thank you #10 for coming up with your own ideas. Is there an authority that can say what LUBAVITCH holds. Not someone that learnt a sicha and watched the Siyum Hashas online and then decides whats lubavitchs policy on an issue that has been going on for over 50 years
Yeah to Rabbi Rieber and his son Eli, who I am sure I spotted in the crowd! It is a big Kiddush Hashem and may it be an aliya for the neshama of our son, Chaim Dovid Shlomo a”h, who’s memory you learned this in. A big yesher koach to all the participants and an even bigger one to your chavrusa, Chaim Fogelman.
Rabbi shur makes kiddush on mahske for the past 40 yrs and it all stays inside.
the kirshenbaums we spot you…..
Not enough lubabs yet….The time will come though
if only you learnt a daf every day-think about it.
מילא צו צוגייען, אבער נאך אויך אנגעטאן אין א סירטוק!?
The Rebbe was not against this event or Daf Yomi, it’s just we are not part of it. To say the Rebbe / Chabad is against learning Gemara is nothing less than absurd. Learning Torah is always commendable and who like the Rebbe encouraged people to learn and grow – even agreeing to omit his name when quoting him if the student is prejudiced towards chassidus. The issue the Rebbe raised with Daf Yomi is that it is more recommended that a person learned a topic that he/she can relate to, instead of being confined to material based on a… Read more »
The guy is doin the Rebbe’s work.
Why would the Rebbe be against an event which celebrates the conclusion of the entire Shas studied by hundreds of thousands of Yidden all around the globe and which brought together almost 100,000 Yidden sitting and dancing together – Sheves Achim Gan Yachad?
80 years of R’ Zalman Shur Shlita making kidush on mashke out the window lol
HUGE KIDUSH HASHEM!
if rabbi jacobson is there does that mean the rebbe supports this event??
does anyone have any answers?
If you look again you will see that indeed THIS event was K’ish Echod U’blev Echod, look at the crowd.
As far as Lubavitch unfortunately, see how many show up to OUR Siyum H’rambam.
Keep the comments positive, because this was a positive event.
Rabbi Dovid Zwiebel and his Askonim of Agudas Yisroel have made great efforts in reaching out to all khilos.
As a matter of fact a number of Lubavitchers were provided with VIP tickets.
M’kol Melamdy Hiskalty……
To # 1: The rabbi in the last pic is Rabbi Yaakov Kassin, chief rabbi of the Syrian community, and rabbi of Congregation Shaare Tzion, on Ocean Parkway.
This was a huge kiddush hashem everyone spoke about ‘kish echad blev echad’…But sadly there were too many communities missing, including most of chabad and almost all the modern orthodox.
Perhaps next time it will actually be ‘kish echad’
who is the rabbi in the last picture
