After two weeks packed full of Chassidic experiences and meaningful activities, the ‘Young Shluchim’ Summer Camp – Europe concluded for the seventh time, with a record-breaking 50 young shluchim from all over the world in attendance.
They enjoyed a busy schedule that began with morning Chassidus, mikveh, davening and Gemara learning. There were also discussions and screenings of special videos of the Rebbe.
In addition, the day was filled with experiential Chassidic activities and uplifting gatherings, which provided the young shliach with a great deal of knowledge and a deeper connection to Chassidic teachings, something that will undoubtedly have an impact throughout the year, strengthening their connection to the Rebbe, the teachings of Chassidism, and its guidance.
In addition to the spiritual nourishment, that included studies and prayers, gatherings and Chassidic activities, and fascinating Chassidic newsletters. There were many enjoyable trips, including A rope course park, bowling, swimming, bike trails, a hiking trail in the Como mountains, and a boat trip on the border of Switzerland.
The highlight was a two-day trip to Croatia, starting with the huge Gardaland amusement park, followed by a warm gathering of the summer camp staff, and a barbecue at Chabad House Garda, led by the Shliach Rabbi Yosef Yitzchok Lavie. From there, they continued on a night journey to Croatia, where the bochrim enjoyed kayaking, stunning natural waterfalls, and at the end, an exciting gathering with the Shliach Rabbi Pinny Zaklas, who also provided all the meals during the bochrim’ stay in this area, and for which we are so grateful.
We would like to thank the dedicated staff good bochrim who worked tirelessly day and night for the success of the summer camp, led by Moshe Vishetsky, who managed it in an exceptional manner, and the entire staff: Yosef Biton, Kobi Gershoni, Mendy Visfish, Israel Wortzhov, Yosef Yitzchok Chanunu, Dovi Kovitchek, Menachem Mendel Kazido, and Mendy Rubinstein.
We would also like to thank the Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva of Antwerp Belgium and its Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Tvardovich, and the chairman of the institutions, the Shliach Rabbi Shabtay Salvatitzki, for their support and encouragement of this wonderful institution.
Special thanks to the Shliach Rabbi Sendy Willshansky, who made the seminary building in Milan available to us for the benefit of the summer camp, and thanks to all the emissaries in the area who contributed their time to help make this event a success.
Thank you to all the dear donors who contributed their funds and made such a wonderful thing happen.
The summer camp concluded with great pomp and circumstance, with a magnificent banquet, and the staff wishing the tmimim a successful and fulfilling year.
We are confident that the bochrim will return to their yeshivas with renewed energy and a vibrant Chassidic spirit, for another year of dedicated study and a strong connection to the Rebbe. And the Chassidic enthusiasm that they received during the summer camp will surely accompany them for life.
The summer camp is an initiative of the Shliach Rabbi Simcha Birnhack, who has been its director for seven consecutive years, with each year growing both physically and spiritually!
