This Tishrei, Shluchim are intensifying their efforts to welcome the growing number of Jews seeking community, connection and inspiration. A Merkos 302 workshop led by digital marketing expert Danny Gavin will equip Shluchim with essential tools to strengthen their online presence ahead of the High Holidays.
In a year marked by unprecedented challenges, Jewish communities worldwide are experiencing a surge in individuals seeking connection, inspiration, and a sense of belonging. Although many are looking for community, not everyone knows where to find it. That’s why Shluchim are stepping up their digital efforts to ensure those searching can easily discover Chabad.
“Liban Shel Yisroel Er, Shluchim are seeing an awakening of interest and involvement more than ever before,” says Rabbi Mendy Kotlarsky, Executive Director of Merkos 302. “Our goal is to support them with the proper resources so that newcomers can easily find them, feel welcomed, and know that Chabad is here for them.”
To meet this increased demand and ensure their message reaches those who need it most, Shluchim are turning to an unexpected ally: digital marketing. A timely workshop from Merkos 302, led by marketing guru Danny Gavin, aims to equip Shluchim with the tools they need to boost their online visibility.
Gavin is the founder of Optidge, a Houston-based digital marketing agency. He leads a team of over 30 professionals specializing in SEO, Paid Search, and Paid Social. He also teaches Social Media and SEO marketing at the University of Houston.
In 2021, Gavin launched ODEO Academy, an online training program in digital marketing that has trained over 600 students. He hosts The Digital Marketing Mentor podcast, exploring mentorship and marketing strategies.
Scheduled for Monday, 20 Elul (September 23) from 9:00 – 10:00 PM EST, the virtual workshop will cover essential digital marketing techniques and feature interactive Q&A sessions where Shluchim get to ask their pressing questions.

This webinar, offered by The Chabad Creators Network at Merkos 302, will cover how fundamental digital marketing techniques to boost online discoverability can be used for Shlichus. Leveraging his extensive experience, Gavin will guide Shluchim through topics including managing Google Business profiles, using Google and Meta Ads, improving SEO, enhancing websites, and leveraging email, WhatsApp, and social media for Shlichus.
In addition to the workshop, veteran Shluchim have partnered with Merkos 302 and a professional ad agency to develop a Tishrei marketing package.
