Israel’s Minister of the Diaspora Omer Yankelevich participated Tuesday night in a virtual event organized by Rabbi Shlomo Levy from the Chabad Center for Young People in Buenos Aires.
An Israeli attorney, educator, social activist, and politician, Yankelevich is Israel’s first-ever Haredi woman Knesset Member. She currently serves as a Member of the Knesset for the Israel Resilience Party and as the Minister of Diaspora Affairs.
The online event was broadcast live to hundreds of Spanish-speaking students from 20 countries in Latin America, Israel, the United States and Canada.
At the beginning of her speech, the Minister thanked Rabbi Chaim Oirechman and the Chabad institutions in South America for the wonderful privilege they gave her to participate in such a huge event, to strengthen the role of young people in the Diaspora and their Jewish pride and connection to the Land of Israel.
