A deer can run and can also be the theme of a Bar Mitzvah, apparently.
A Bar Mitzvah celebration recently held at the Gavriel event venue in Ness Ziona, Israel centered around the kosher-hoofed ruminant mammal with its tall antlers.
The reason? The 13-year-old’s name is Tzvi Shmueli which translates to deer in Hebrew. The lavish party and the concept behind it was the work of Tzvaim Productions.
A crowd of hundreds was present at the celebration, feting the boy’s father Itzik Shmueli, a real estate developer and member of the Chabad community in Rechovot.
Shmueli entered the real estate field 12 years ago doing marketing and consulting for large companies. In 2008, he founded Shmueli Properties and Investments Group which builds apartment buildings and shopping centers in 7 locations in Israel.
Among the attendees were Rabbi Menachem Mendel Gluckowsky, Rov of Chabad of Rechovot; Rechovot Mayor Rachamim Malul and Vice Mayor Zohar Bloom, and Shliach Rabbi Dovid Katz of England.
During the event, a new video production of Yahaduton was presented for the first time about the importance of a Jewish coming of age, according to the Torah and halacha.
The Bar Mitzvah boy regularly releases short video clips about the weekly Parsha in the Torah which he shares online with classmates and the wider public. They are based on the Rebbe‘s sichos.
In honor of the occasion, the boy also filmed a music video about the meaning of a Bar Mitzvah:
