Darchai Menachem Mesivta hosted a special Father and Son Learning event, bringing together fathers and sons for a day filled with inspiration, connection, and learning.
The event kicked off with a lively Shachris followed by a delicious breakfast to energize them for the learning ahead. Darchai Talmid YY Newman delivered an introductory Dvar Torah on Parshas Behaalosecha. Drawing from the Parsha and the Rebbe’s Sichos, he focused on the significance of lighting the Menorah and how it teaches us our power to illuminate the world around us. Rabbi Avraham Moshe Sandhaus, known for his wealth of Rebbe stories, captivated the Mesivta boys with a number of beautiful Rebbe stories.
Finally, the fathers and sons settled into one-on-one study sessions. Darchai staff prepared a relevant and timely curriculum from Shaar Habitachon Perek Hey, and each Chavrusa pair delved into the depths of Bitachon and its practical applications in daily life. The room buzzed with energy as animated discussions filled the air.
Rabbi Eli Sandhaus, the Mesivta Assistant Principal, was moved as he observed the fathers and sons so engrossed in the learning. “It is so beautiful to see fathers and sons come together, dedicating precious quality time to connect with one another through Limmud HaTorah.”
As the event drew to a close, there was a collective reluctance to part ways. “Everyone had gotten so into the learning that It was difficult to tell them that it was time to stop,” says Rabbi Sandhaus.
“We hope that this will be an inspiration for father and sons spending time together learning not only in Yeshiva but at home as well. This will strengthen the relationship between father and son and bring light and Bracha to the entire family.”
The event ended with a Siyum on Maseches Tamid by Hatomim Mendel Ziskind who made his second Siyum Masechta this year.
