ARE the police on high alert to keep us safe? ARE the police watching to protect us and our children from hoodlums? Or. Are the police on high alert to cars parked a millisecond later than the sign states?

Very good.
Look at the erev Shabbat violent attack on our bochurim right here on President btwn Bklyn. and New York Avenues at an early time: 6:30 PM!.
What good is a weapon when you can only fire it at certain times and your using wet ammunition?
The criminals just DON’T fear the law, because the law doesn’t deserve to be feared; it’s WEAK!
You could add a million cops to the streets of any given neighborhood, and if the criminals are let out or get a light sentence, what’s the use?
A shell game. Smoke and mirrors.
