A group of Crown Heights activists has called for Crown Heights residents to vote Republican 'Down the Ballot' in the upcoming election. “We need candidates who will fight for the pro-yeshiva and pro-safety laws that our community desires," they wrote. Full Story

Joe Pinion comes across well at the debate
November 6, 2022 3:06 pm

Pinion is astute, well spoken and has solid moral values. If you know how the US Senate works, then you know that voting for US Senator you have to consider the party when the numbers are so close. Voting for Schumer because you think you can get more money from him is like furnishing your own cabin while you are voting for the team that is sinking the ship, your cabin included. The Biden administration is jailing and mistreating their political opponents and refusing to give them due process and fair judges. Schumer does not speak out against this practice.… Read more »

As a start Biden jailed tons of people for the great offense of trespassing congress. At antifa rallies there never are any consequences for serious violence, let alone trespassing congress. Nor does Code Pink ever pay a price for their numerous trespassing stunts in congress. And what about steve bannon? For failing to appear to a congressional subpoena??!! Never ever do these failure to appears get prosecuted. And what about storming mar a lago? And storming Project Veritas to look for any dirt they can find to punish him for his journalism? And what about real lives destroyed by criminal… Read more »

Following the January 6th riot in our nation’s capital, the current American regime of elites has charged more than 700 people with crimes in connection with attempted insurrection. Many of them are languishing in prison, some in solitary confinement, often with very minimal charges, or worse yet, no charges at all. It has been reported that two of those incarcerated have committed suicide. Jail conditions have been reported as including beatings by guards, being scorned and labeled white supremacists, denied religious services (remember this is America and the prisoners are Americans), denied personal hygiene, denied time with attorneys and visits… Read more »

Since you are requesting an explanation, I shall provide one. Please note, I am not saying that a “frum Jew” cannot think differently than me. This is primarily what I was responding to, the initial statement that every “frum Jew” would come to the same conclusion and thus vote Republican. As we all know, there are divergent points of view in the Torah, including that of Bet Hillel and Bet Shammai or as another example, how the Alter Rebbe thought and reacted one way regarding Napoleon while all the ‘gedolim’ took a different approach. Now that we have established that it… Read more »

I have quickly looked over the sicha – thank you. I will study it further when I have time. What is your point? Is it that the people who are helped by the government are all lazy and do not want to work and should not be helped? What about people who are sick? Does this all apply to Jews and Gentiles alike? Is it your belief that nobody should receive any Chesed? Or that people should only receive Chesed if ‘everyone’ legitimately qualifies. You have left me confused trying to understand what your point is. Yes, some people are… Read more »

…is that a substantial number – maybe even an overwhelming number – of welfare recipients aren’t working. And that in turn leads to social pathologies that were in fact recognized – by Democrats – as long ago as the 1960s. Then there was a (Democratic) attempt in the 1990s to implement “workfare,” where those who are capable of working would have to do so, but it was shot down. So the elderly and the disabled and so forth are one thing; no one has any objection to that, except in the fantasies of those trying to scare voters back onto… Read more »

what Democrat policies are in consonance with Torah. Alternative “marriage”? Unrestricted abortion (which is assur for Bnei Noach under all circumstances, and is permitted for Jews only in rare ones)?
And if you’re going to answer that they show love and tolerance and kindness – it is to laugh. Ask some conservative women, or African-Americans, etc., how much of those they’ve seen from the Democrats. Hint: less than zero.

Interesting you say that because, if you open your eyes and your mind, you’ll see that half the Ivy League students are directionless and many work in Starbucks while they try to figure themselves out. It seems that the wealthiest and most influential people by far from this neighborhood are the ones who went to.. you guessed it.. Yeshiva. I went to a school where I learned kodesh and secular and I have a decent profession but neither I or most of my peers are half as successful as these ‘uneducated’ (as you describe it) Yeshiva boys.

“Never addressed [A]merica[‘]s struggling poor”? If you mean “didn’t just give them free handouts,” then yes. Because, for one thing, that destroys their humanity. Instead he followed policies that would improve the economy for all, including said struggling poor. “Allowed gun violence to spiral”? That would be in Democrat-run cities. Maybe you need to talk to the mayors of said cities. “His base of supporters are spiteful and hateful… as well as rednecks” Listen to yourself. Proposal 4: True Cost of Living: This measure would mandate that the city government use a new method to calculate the “true cost of living” in the city without taking into account public, private or informal assistance a person or household may receive. The RJC advocated for this change, it said, because it concluded that current poverty measures are not accurate for New York City’s needs or policy decisions. A commonly used federal poverty measure developed decades ago does not take regional costs into consideration, it said. To combat that, New York created its own measure — called the NYCgov Poverty… Read more »

American Christians have a different way of acting out their religion compared to previous places. America was founded on what they call Judeo-Christian values. And that is what most serious Christians want today. Those values are what created the country that Jews have fled to and where we have flourished. There is Jew hatred in America today, and it is growing. But it is no where near as bad as it would be if there were no Judeo-Christian values. The growing Jew hatred comes from people who have been left without a belief in G-d. Our job is to teach… Read more »
