In an attempt to bring Bar Mitzvah age boys together that have very different levels of knowledge and of background, a club was recently started by Shliach Meir Geisinsky.
“We decided to focus on one aspect that all Jewish young men should know about, which is the details of the Mitzvos they perform,” said Rabbi Geisinsky, “and combine that with skills for being handy.”
The Bar Mitzvah Craftsman Club, held at Chabad of the Five Towns, is for boys in grades 7 and 8. The boys have already made Tefillin Shel Rosh, and more projects are planned for the future.
