A Post Sem leadership training course offered by Rabbi Shmuly Rothman promises to prepare for “real life scenarios” in creating “Success and Happiness” on Post Sem Shlichus.
Following the success of the Camp Gan Israel staff leadership courses, Rabbi Shmuly Rothman is offering a Post Sem Leadership Course for the worldwide network of Post Sem girls spending the year on Shlichus.
“The course is fresh, engaging, challenging – it’s out-of-the-box,” says Rothman. “It will change your year, and quite possibly the rest of your life.”
Using technology provided by MaestroConference.com, Rothman leads a series of conference calls from his office in Chicago. These calls are designed to be interactive, engaging, challenging and effective.
The course covers a broad spectrum of “real life scenarios” that a Chabad House/School employee will be experiencing on a daily basis. During the duration of the course, he offers email and telephone support along with continued support at the conclusion of the course. Past participants have reported “immediate practical application” of the lessons taught.
“Some of the topics are ones I would not have thought of, such as how to speak and interact with my superiors when they aren’t seeing things my way,” says Benzion Shemtov, HC, CGI Detroit 5770. “When things happened at camp that we were taught to anticipate, I was prepared and better able to deal with it.”

Rabbi Rothman came on our Grade Shabbaton and he was the best person who could have been brought in. We were able to speak about real life issues in dealing with others and how we can deal with them in the most productive way. Shmuly doesn’t do magic and don’t convince yourself you’ll be doing less work but the Shmuly tricks I’ve learned have changed the way my chabad house operates, we love work & were producing way more.

Yep i am one of those , a girl who “went through the system ” , with a loving caring surrounding , and i still used and abused. last year i and about 50 other bochurim shluchim had monthly conference calls with shmuli dealing with practical issues and conflicts on how to deal with the younger talmidim whom we were mentoring, was it not for shmuli’s guidance we would of not known where to begin- on behalf of us all we send our thanks to shmuli for giving us the tools and to Mrs Rochel duchman of Los Angeles for being in the for fornt of this pilot project in taking care of “unzere Kinder”.
I took his course before this summer, and it really enhanced our camp, as I learned new techniques on how to make something run smoothly. I highly recommend his course. He will also help you figure out what to do in specific situations that you have issues with, until you come up with the answer – on your own. I would make it a condition that the shliach has to have her take this course. It will save a lot of problems on both sides. Trust me I know. Let’s say I learned my lesson later than I wish I did. Who’s taking responsibilty that our girls will have a productive year? It’s not the shliach’s fault if they have no clue how to make the proper environment for our girls. But if a course like this exists now they have no excuse.
I took Rabbi Rothman’s course while working as a teacher. The challenges I had with discipline and the “out of the ordinary” child all but dissipated as he gave me the tools to work with each child on their level. this past summer I took a course with Rabbi Shmuly Rothman for head staff. He is very clear and brings very practical examples. Every class was a different topic.
