Machon Smicha, led by Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Kesselman, is a unique, online, halacha-learning program that makes learning, getting tested and receiving smicha possible. The Machon offers rigorous and structured learning programs in halachah across a broad spectrum of topics, which enables learners to grow and succeed in their Torah learning, from the novice to the scholar.
What began in 2019 with just 15 students has grown into an international organization with over 350 students. And next week, 160 of those students will be receiving their smicha at a grand Chag Hasmicha to be held in person in New York.
The ultimate goal of Machon Smicha is to answer the call of so many who want to learn halachah in a deep and authentic manner. People who might feel that on their own, do not necessarily possess the tools to open up a Gemara, a Shulchan Aruch, or the various poskim, and learn them at a high level. Our goal is to create courses in halachah wherein participants can explore the halachic process on their own, in-depth, and come to an understanding, along with an appreciation, of why we do what we do.
The Chag Hasmicha is open to everyone. To attend, RSVP at onlinemachon.com/chag
Also, Machon Smicha’s next semester begins on 2 July 2023 (13 Tammuz 5783). To learn more, or to apply, visit onlinemachon.com.
