N’shei Chabad Newsletter, the longest-running and most popular Chabad women’s publication, said Tuesday that it has signed a cooperation agreement with leading community news service COLlive.com, sharing content and cross promotion.
The deal will provide an opportunity for the veteran Lubavitch women’s publication to broaden its global subscription base and tap in to the new generation of young mothers, newlyweds, seminary and even high school girls.
COLlive Women, a new section currently in beta mode, will blend COLlive’s popular content and useful resource information with N’shei Chabad Newsletter’s celebrated articles and opinions – from new and old editions.
“We are thrilled that the work we put into each issue of the magazine won’t stop with the limited number of subscribers, but will be accessed online by the thousands of people who are on COLlive.com regularly,” says Rishe Deitsch, senior editor of the N’shei Newsletter.
“We put so many late-night hours – blood, sweat and tears, toil and travail, laughter and love and many leaps of faith– into creating, with Hashem’s help, a magazine that, we hope, really speaks to the concerns of Lubavitchers; addresses the burning issues in an open-minded, helpful, respectful and chassidishe way; entertains and inspires; and brings the Rebbe’s ideas and advice right into the kitchen.”
N’shei Chabad Newsletter has been a staple of the Lubavitch community since its founding in 1976 in Brooklyn, NY.
Mrs. Brana Shaina Deitsch infused new life into it as of the summer of 1980, when Mrs. Rivka Malka Geisinsky became Editor-in-Chief. Its wealth of insightful and inspiring content has made it a useful reading reference at the Shabbos table or in the living room.
Articles by Chana Sharfstein and Esther Vilenkin about wearing a shaitel, Miriam Amzalak’s “Chassidishe Hanhagos for Children,” and articles on varied critical topics, such as the so-called “divorce article” by Henya Klyne, have enlightened readers and sparked discussion. Reports from women of all ages and backgrounds, as well as the popular “I was touched” column, have been providing inspiration to Chabad women around the world for over three decades.
With the partnership with COLlive.com, some of those articles will be shared with the world and N’shei will be able to build a strong web presence to boost subscriptions and advertisements, through their soon-to-be-launched brand new website.
“This is a classic example of traditional media meeting new media,” said Mica Soffer, publisher and director of COLlive.com. “Teaming up with N’shei will benefit both organizations and the wider Lubavitch public. We are proud they are joining the list of long-time mosdos who work hand in hand with COLlive on a daily basis.”
Others on the newsletter staff are glad to see the magazine take steps into the 21st Century.
“As the ‘mazel tov lady’ for the N’shei for many years, when I heard about this, I felt like shouting, ‘Mazel tov!’,” said Bluma Schneider.
“With this exciting innovation, the whole world wide web audience is going to be able to benefit from the N’shei Chabad Newsletter, and our readership won’t be limited by the boundaries of those subscribers who receive it in their home or those who purchase it at a store.”
News, advice and guidance articles, interviews, op-eds, photos, videos and more will all be available at COLlive.com/women.
Stay tuned as we continue to add more features.

Hard copy will always be necessary for those of us who
relax and recharge with the Newsletter on Shabbos.
sounds awesome – how about some recipes/cooking articles
nice female spirit !i love it!
The newsletter will keep being printed as usual and be sent to subscribers and sold in stores. In addition to that, some of the nshei articles will be posted on COLlive.
Nshei is a periodical, so not all the content of the COLlive Women section will be from the Nshei. It will include the regular COLlive news and articles.
