As the first yahrzeit of Dr. Yitzchak Block approaches this coming Erev Sukkot (end of September), the Block family is preparing to publish a book of recollections about their late father–chassid, philosopher, teacher and shliach.
Throughout this year of mourning, people from all walks of life and from the most unexpected places have shared their memories of Dr. Block and his wife, Laya, with the family. They are making an effort would to collect these stories and others.
If you knew Dr. Yitzchok and Laya Block in any capacity–as a student at the University of Western Ontario, as a resident of London, as a participant in the Pegisha with Chabad in Crown Heights, or through any of life’s circuitous paths–please share your memories with the family.
Please email your story to Drblockmemories@gmail.com no later than Thursday, September 13th, so that this memorial can be published in time for his first yahrtzeit.
I loved the first booklet, looking forward to the second one.

Please tell what you know — all details are relevant and may not be known in full by his children.
One must write about his Mesiras nefesh in preparing for Yom kipur every year. Driving from london to toronto etc. I’m sure one of his children will know best to describe in detail his Avodas Hakodesh in preparing and selebrating Yom kippur..I can add something but his children know much more.
Also; I was told by Reb Avrohom Mayor about Dr Block’s קריאת שמע על המיטה. There again; even dough I can retell what Reb Avrohom mayor told me I’m certain his children will be able to tell it better.
