Despite the summer heat and the usual partisan gridlock, there was a little more energy in Washington, D.C., today.
That’s because more than 100 young entrepreneurs gathered in the nation’s capital for meetings at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Capitol Hill, and the White House.
The purpose was to launch Our Time’s Buy Young initiative, a campaign to encourage Americans to support companies and organizations founded by people who are under 30.
As a side benefit, policymakers got to hear what these young risk takers are thinking.
That’s important because “it is young entrepreneurs who will lead the way to economic recovery,” said David Schottenstein, who founded Astor & Black Custom Clothiers in Columbus, Ohio, in 2005 when he was 21.
Schottenstein, a donor to Chabad institutions and causes, was interviewed on Fox News discussing how to tackle the job crisis in America.
Astor & Black has for the 2nd time made the Inc. 500|5000 list of the fastest–growing private companies in America.
With this accomplishment Astor & Black Custom Clothiers joins the rarified company of enterprises that have appeared on the list multiple times, many of which have grown to become national icons.

A valuable effort. But…somewhat fruitless in a society run by fools and the wicked. There are also enough ‘brain dead’ or apathetic citizens who feel ‘they don’t count and can’t change the system.’ ‘The 7 Noahide Laws’ would reduce crime DRAMATICALLY. The country could lay-off 3/4 (About) of its policing force and save billions. Not to mention court costs, appeals, building prisons…etc. As it is the criminal justice system is self-serving, promulgating its own interests: crime = big bucks.
