Chony Releases ‘The Great Farby’

Leave it to Chony Milecki, one of the busiest musicians in the Jewish world with his nightly gigs and a home studio in Brooklyn, to include producing a new album to his repertoire.

The Australian native, who lives in Crown Heights with his family, is now releasing “The Great Farby,” a dance album featuring 17 tracks of favorite Chabad nigunim, just in time for Chanukah.

Milecki says he was inspired to undertake the project following the success of the free dance tracks he released on COLlive.com for public download in honor of Chanukah, Purim and Simchas Beis Hashoeiva.

These tracks have been playing at public and private Jewish events worldwide, leading Milecki to invested two and a half years of effort and a total $50,000 to make a masterpiece album everyone would love. It was produced in conjunction with music master Shai Bachar.

“The project was a tremendous undertaking that took over my life for a few years,” said Milecki. “I’m not a singer who pays for my albums by singing at concerts, so I really hope people will buy the album and support important projects like these.”

The album features some of the best artists in Jewish music including Avi Piamenta, 8th Day, Eli Marcus, Benny Friedman, Beri Weber, Yoni Z, Shmueli Ungar, Yanky Lemmer, Rogers Park, Raya Mehemna, Nemouel Harroch, Mendi Jerufi, and more.

Physical CD copies will be available in stores in just a few weeks. The digital download album will sell for $12. It is now available for $8 until the second day of Chanukah at www.TheGreatFarby.com.
