This past Tuesday evening, 61 students from Lubavitch Senior Girls’ School, in London, England, were invited together with their proud mothers and sisters to the “Chavi’s Club Awards Ceremony.” Highly acclaimed singers, known as the Fabian Sisters, had the crowd enthralled by their beautiful songs about achdus and friendship.
Chavi’s Club, a program created by Leah and Sara Shear, in memory of Chavi Friedberg obm, is designed to be an inclusive three month program promoting awareness of the importance of Ahavas Yisroel. Two amazing teachers, Miss Dubov and Miss Schwei, capably ran the program with much chayus and dedication.
Each girl who took part in the club was presented with a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award depending on the amount of months she had managed to complete. Those who achieved the full three months of Chavi’s Club, received a beautiful glass frame upon which their names were engraved. Congratulations to Rivka Amitai, Baila Cohen, Gita Gansburg, Chefzi Gorman, Yehudis Gruber, Mushka Hackner, Aidel Heller, Chana Junik, Mushka Katz, Batya Kestecher, Sara’le Labkowski, Bluma Mitz, Rivka Mitz, Ayelet Odze, Bat Zion Odze, Lily Ohana, Brocha Overlander, Linda Peha, Chassia Pruss, Mushka Raskin, Rochelle Rodal, Bunia Schwei, Tobi Tiefenbrun and Mushka Vogel upon receiving the Gold Award.
A few of the girls who completed Chavi’s Club were chosen to speak about their experiences and how it affected them.
“When my friends and I joined Chavi’s Club, we slowly realised that Ahavas Yisroel is not just about being a generally nice person, but true Ahavas Yisroel involves taking notice and being attuned with all classmates at all times,” said Gita Gansburg.
“Joining Chavi’s Club has made me think more about how others are feeling. Sometimes we are not sure how to approach another person, but because of Chavi’s Club, even though I might feel awkward, I think to myself how sad or uncomfortable the other person may be feeling,” added Batya Kestecher.
Aidel Heller concluded, “I want to thanks Mrs Shear for dedicating herself to this amazing project. May it be in the merit of all the Ahavas Yisroel that we will greet the coming of Moshiach.”
The Neshama of Chava Faiga Leah bas Elimelech HaLevi A”H should have an aliyah.

It’s hard to find words to describe how vitally important this project is for our girls’ chinuch (and boys’ chinuch, too). Kudos to the menahalim and to all who made it possible, and to all the girls who participated. I wouldn’t be surprised if this program brings Moshiach.
