As part of a project to document Jewish life around the world, photographer Israel Bardugo is in Italy, documenting the activities of Chabad Shluchim in Venice during the holiday of Chanukah, as well as the hundreds of tourists and members of the local community who took part in the celebration.
The highlight of the events took place, when a menorah was lit in the Venice’s St. Mark’s Square, in the exact spot where the burning of the Talmud occurred about 500 years ago.
