Chanukah at Social Bar

A Chanukah party and Menorah lighting in Glasgow was held this week in a very hip location: The Social bar in Shawlands.

Rabbi Mendel Jacobs, the only Scottish-born rabbi currently living in Scotland and leader of the Shul in The Park, welcomed his Jewish 18-35 year old guests.

Following a speech and the lighting of the Menorah, participants enjoyed drinks and food – all free – which included homemade latkes and donuts.

Another Chanukah event in Glasgow was a full course dinner, prepared by Mrs. Tzirl Jacobs, with mind-reader Ewen Wilson as the entertainer.
