On October 26th, three-year-old Rachel Teresh from Brooklyn, NY, was prescribed the wrong medication by her doctor to treat an infection.
A few days later, she was rushed to the hospital, and is fighting to stay alive against a deadly disease called Stevens Johnson Syndrome. It has burned most of her body from the inside out.
I cannot fathom what this little angel’s parents have been going through since this all began. When the doctors placed their daughter in an induced coma, during countless surgeries, while waiting for a miracle, the one thing they have been doing was praying.
Today, her mother reached out.
“Please do as many mitzvos as you can for our daughter,” she asked. “Any form of charity to others, help someone else out. Being that today is Thursday, perhaps all the women out there could bake Challah in her merit.”
A Facebook page was created to coordinate and share the mitzvos there are being done in the girl’s merit and honor.
The Hebrew name to keep in mind when doing your Mitzva is “Rachel Chaya Bas Rivkah.”
Unfortunately, most of us are numb to these types of everyday occurrences –may they never come upon us– but whatever you’re doing, try to imagine a little soul lying in a hospital bed Cornell Hospital.
Her parents begging, pleading with G-d to leave their daughter with them. An endless stream of tears soak up the hospital sheets.
We ask that each of you reading this take on an extra mitzva, even if it’s just a one-time deal, in merit of arousing G-d’s mercy upon this little girl and her family.
Your Good deed for Rachel will certainly strengthen their prayers. G-d listens.
Is there any news about her??
Plz answer
Thx
may she have a speedy and complete Refua Shelayma, and Hashem should save this little girl. I will include her in my prayers.

Would not attack the poster. She rightly pointed out that SJS can be caused by the infection itself. You misinterpreted her comments (maybe because this is such an emotional situation). Kusnetz did nothing and said nothing wrong. She also said SJS is real and just pointed to another possible cause.
We need achdus at this time. Hashem, please show Rachamim Rabim. Please save Rochel Chaya Bas Rivka fully.
Everyone, keep saying Tehillim, please write the Rebbe, and most of all, please keep achdus and work hard for achdus for this special girl.
SJS can occur because someone has an infection or an adverse affect from a medication but that does not mean the wrong med was given.Whatever the case, she should only have a recovery soon IYH’.
Refua shilama speady recovery
She was allergic to the medication.
Refua shleima to a Little angel. I’ll pray for her for a speedy recovery! Amen!
a speedy recovery h’m
Poor little girl, I feel so bad for her and somewhat anger to the doctors that gave her the wrong medication. If you are a doctor and you know your field well, WHY WOULD YOU GIVE A CHILD THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION? Wishing the daughter a full quick recovery, and wishing the parents to have no more stress in this situation. Have a good shabbos.
I davent and putted tsedaka in her zchus!!
I’m baking in her zchus
Tracht Gut Vet Zayn Gut! Think positively and it will be good!
Hashem gives life and should continue to give Rachel Chaya Bas Rivkah continued life with complete health and happiness and may she grow to be a true source of nachas to all!
Extra Tzeddakah given in honor of this precious Neshama. May Hashem bestow only Simchas from now on for both this little Malach & her family.
SJS is a real condition. Google it. It can often happen after taking a sulfa, anti-epileptic, or atypical antipsychotic drug. It’s even happened after giving Motrin. SJS has a 50% mortality rate, and if she survives she may be blind and/or permanently scarred for life.
Your callous and ill informed comments only make things worse. In the future, please do some research before you go spouting things off.
May Rachel Chaya have a refuah sheleimah, with no lasting damages. I don’t usually bake challah, but I will do so today. I’ll say some extra tehillim as well.
Refuah Shleima for your precious daughter.May Hashem give you strength during this difficult time.
Nothing is impossible by Hashem.Hashem is holding your hand through this ordeal.
Wishing you shefa Brochos for gezunt, nachas and all good things.
May you be able to share good besuros.

I will have Rachel in my prayers.
FYI, this syndrome may be caused by the infection itself, not by the medication used. It bothers me tremendously, and I think it’s irrelevant here, to see it publicized that the physician “prescribed the wrong medicine” to treat an infection. What proof do you have that the physician was at fault, but more importantly, why mention that here? Bad things happen, and sometimes it’s nobody’s fault, it just is. Refuah shelayma, little one.
HaShem please help this innocent girl. Her parents don’t deserve to lose their love.
Yes of course. We daven for you daven for us.
May Hashem show his mercy and grant her a complete and speedy recovery now!
What else can we say? MOSHIACH NOW!!!!
i never bake challah i’m going to bake this week please hashem give this girl a complete refuah shleima, my heart goes out to you.
She should have an immediate refuah.
