Chabad has transformed gas-eating motorhomes into Mitzvah Tanks, pickup trucks into Sukkah Mobiles and automobiles into Menorah displays.
Now it’s the golf cart’s turn.
Visitors to Trinity Drive in Key West, Florida, are likely to spot a decorated buggy sporting the logo of the Chabad Jewish Center of the Florida Keys. Its owner and driver is the Shliach Rabbi Yaakov Zucker.
He calls it The Mitzvah Cart.
“Its the new thrill on the Island,” he told COLlive.com. “Everyone is amazed to see a rabbi driving by and doing Mivtziom.”
It was dedicated this month in connection with the second yarzheit of Mrs. Hilda Brafman of Miami Beach on Erev Yom Kippur. Her husband Fishel OBM is mentioned as well.
The Mitzvah Cart, designed by Moshe Muchnik of Spotlight Design, helps Rabbi Zucker and his wife Chanie with greeting the many Jewish visitors and guests at the Cruise Ship Port.
It helped them deliver honey cakes to residents, offer men to put on Tefillin, hand out Shabbos candles to women and pass around their weekly newsletter.
They also put it to good use by shuttling people to Chabad’s Mincha and Maariv minyan downtown.
We’re left wondering whether this will become a new Chabad trademark?
I miss you so much!!!
