By Adam Nessenoff
After much anticipation, the mitzvah tank in memory of Gedalya Greenzayd embarks on its journey across the east coast.
The tank is manned by Adam Nessenoff (Boca Raton, FL), Leibel Khazanovich (Sharon, MA), Mendel Grossbaum (Stony Brook, NY), Dovid Ginsburg (Myrtle Beach, CA), and Mendy Kreiman (Palm Springs, CA).
We are starting by heading north to Rhode Island and Massachusetts. We officially began this week without the Tank in Manhattan’s Upper West Side getting about 20 Jews to put on teffilin. We aim to get over 1,000 teffilin in memory of Gedalya.
For Gimmel Tammuz we will be stationed at the Ohel, after which we will travel to Florida, making stops in Boca Raton and Miami.
Then, we will drive up the East Coast, stopping in Tallahassee, Atlanta, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and ending in Bucks County Pennsylvania. Our trip will include everything from running programs with barbecues, kids activities and tefillin to street Mivtzoyim using our tank.
We strongly believe in taking teffilin “selfies”, which documents the experience and it can easily be an avenue for further communication, if sent by email or text.
Even those who aren’t on the tank with us can join in this teffilin campaign in memory of Gedalya by taking your own “teffilin selfies” and sending them to beardedrabbis@gmail.com. If everyone who sees this article can take just 2 “teffilin selfies” the effect can be immense and will give the Rebbe lots of nachas.
It is a true zechus to be running a mitzvah tank of the Rebbe and we hope our activities should bring about the coming of Moshiach and we will see Gedalya bigashmiyus.
Please help us complete our budget by supporting us online at TransformingDarkness.com.

As one of the original donors, I’m so happy to see you got this off the ground, it’s beautiful! 🙂 And I love “We brake for tefillin”! Yasher koach.

I am so proud of my son Adam and these bochrim. Gedalya’s neshama should have an Aliyah with every tfillin.
great idea ,,,,an Epson picture-mate ,portable pre charged[BH $350.}prints a pictures in 30 seconds,,,[and stores a copy as well] against a background of the kosel[nichoach 6 is best] it is very persausive if given to the person putting on teffillin to continue on his own.
looking good, dovid!
