The Kedem Auction House in Jerusalem is putting up for sale on Tuesday a collection of items connected to the Rebbe and his predecessor, the Rebbe Rayatz.
Officials at Lubavitch World Headquarters are stating that Kedem has no right to do so and are calling on the public not to participate in the online auction.
Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, secretary of the Rebbe who was named the executor of the Rebbe’s estate, issued a public letter on Monday on the matter.
He wrote: “It has come to my attention that various documents, manuscripts and items belonging to the Estate of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, of blessed memory, and which are in the possession of certain individuals who have yet to relinquish these said items to the Estate, are being offered for sale on various public auctions.
“Please be aware that purchasing these items further elbolden these individuals as they seek to monetize property belonging to the Rebbe’s estates namely Agudas Chassidei Chabad, for their own edification.”
Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in the United States and Canada has been asked to resolve the matter, while Beis Din Rabbonei Chabad in Israel asked Kedem to halt the public bidding.
In a letter to Kedem, Rabbi Yitzchok Yehuda Yaruslavsky demanded that such items be immediately removed from auction number 75 scheduled for Tuesday morning.
According to a courier who delivered Rabbi Yaroslavsky’s letter, a manager at Kedem responded: “What does it mean Din Torah? I only know the court of the State of Israel.” The items are still up for sale on the bidding website.

If the current holder/seller of these documents won’t relinquish them, then maybe a generous buyer would like to be the one to facilitate the return to their rightful place.
People will see that it sells for a lot a will keep doing this with the Rebbe’s things.
Stopping the sale (or invalidating it after the fact) is the best course of action
If Kedem Auction House does not remove the from the auction,
Can’t there be a very wealthy man who would generously buy the items and return the items to
the Rebbes Estate?
Thanks Rabbi Krinsky
You are truly the Rebbe’s man !!!!!! We need you !!!! Stay well.
