Israelis in India over the Rosh Hashanah holiday crowded Chabad houses across the country, despite warnings by Israel’s Counter-Terrorism Bureau of plans to attack the facilities.
Emissaries at Indian Chabad houses said the two-day holiday had been quiet, although the warnings had sparked a number of phone calls from worried parents that led some travelers to avoid the gatherings.
“It was a happy, calm, fun holiday,” the Chabad emissary in Bombay told Haaretz by telephone.
He asked that his name not be used in light of concerns raised by the attack on the city’s Chabad House in last November.
Nine people died in that attack last year.
