Thousands of Jews put on Tefillin, received Shabbos candles, and were encouraged in the other Mivtzoim at the annual Israel Day Festival in Cheviot Hills, Los Angeles.
Celebrate Israel Festival is the largest Jewish happening in Los Angeles each year. Over 15,000 community members come out to celebrate Israel with entertainment, interactive activities, culture, food and art.
Attendees were greeted by Anash and Shluchim from local Chabad centers including Century City, Cheviot Hills, Chabad Israel Center, Larchmont and Hancock Park.
Noted visitors to the Chabad booth included Los Angeles City Councilman Paul Koretz and U.S. Navy Fighter pilot Mitchell Flint, both of whom gladly put on Tefillin.
We were so honored to have the chance for my husband, Michael, to take part in the mitzvah of Tefillin as we exited the fair. Thank you so much for posting beautiful pictures of us.
