At a recent rooftop barbecue event, volunteers of Chabad Air were thanked at an evening of appreciation, where the volunteers who run the busy Mivtzoim booth at JFK airport were thanked for their incredible dedication.
The booth is manned over 10 hours every day at JFK Airport, a bustling airport hub where thousands of Jews of all types pass through daily.
Hundreds of Tefillin are put on, many of which are Bar Mitzvas donning for the first time. Well over 50,000 letters in the Sefer Torah were given out during the last 18 months, and many more activities as well.
Speaking at the event was the head of El Al Security who told how much they appreciated all their efforts and how much he appreciates all their efforts that the volunteers do for the passengers and for the staff making sure that the Yiddishkeit continues even while they’re abroad.
Rabbi Shmuley Butler, a long time volunteer, spoke about the importance of the Mivtzoim. The volunteers were uplifted and inspired with resolve to continue their mission with great dedication.
