The gabboim of the main shul of 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights are puzzled over a large amount of cash that was found and remains unclaimed.
The piles of American dollars, the exact amount of which we were asked not to disclose, was found this past Motzoei Shabbos.
It was handed to the gabboim who were nothing short of astonished to see such a large amount.
While they can certainly make good use of the findings, one gabbai told COLlive they are trying to find the owner.
“If we can save a Jew who might be in trouble over this, that would be great,” one of them said.
“There is a possibility that the person did not remember where he lost it and we hope that with this publicity, he might come over.”
If you lost a large amount of cash on Motzei Shabbos, contact the Gabboim.
A lot of people going crazy! Chillax people!
Its someones who came to collect…….& he droppd it
Its not mine but can I have it ????
Why is everyone going crazy over some $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Make sure they’re not counterfeit bills. Seems strange no one would claim them.
A lot of people saying “its mine”
If its yours you should put a phone number so that they can give it back.
whatkind of money we are talking about?
100.000? A million ?
someone had a neder now he payed back his/her neder.
not very smart to post that someone lost a pile of cash
you should give it to Agdas Chasidei Chabad. They are the rightful owners of 770 as per the rebbes zy”a directives.
This sounds sketchy…
We sure could use it! If you don’t find the owner? Can we have it, or even part of it? We’re in Israel, so each of those is worth four times its amount ot us!
SIMPLE SOLUTION
JuST SAY 3 TIMES
ANENA RABI MEIR BAAL HANESS ANEINA AND…
I WILL COME TO THE GABOIM TO COLLECT IT!I
If it was $7,000 in $20 bills, it is mine. I can’t afford to lose my weekly collection money. That is supposed to last me until next week. BTW, I’m the Jewish beggar, not many of us around here
If that was my cash. Ill b losing my mind!
the Tzfatim.
my friend due to her davening shmone esrei could not stop a lady from stealing an envelope from a lady’s purse who ran in to use a washroom right before seems to be a close close relative’s chuppa.(maybe own child). she had an envelpe to pay wedding bills it seems. Hopefully the borrower had charoto now and did not know how to return it to the owner. i hope this lady reads this and can see if the amount adds up
Where are all the messianics? the rebbe left them there b/c he wanted dollars distributed. get in line.
Uhmm…how do u know? It will be very weird for someone to leave a huge amount of money in 770, knowing anyone can take it
If you intended to drop it for charity, please make a note – it was dropped for charity along with the dollar amount for verification. Thank you.
Hi
It’s mine
U can pick 50% tzedaka
well, that’s why they’re posting announcements on col, so that if someone did so, and forgot about it, they’ll know it is safe, and found, and will also know who to contact in order to claim it.
Many of us are unaware but if the money came from something illegal someone can get in trouble for using it. Be careful
maybe someone lost it and didnt relize
Drug money. Call law enforcement and don’t fool around.
check it to make sure its not counterfeit. Also, maybe it its not claimed, then they can put it into a tzedaka fund. Invest it, and use the dividends to keep giving people in need?
Maybe someone forgot they were carrying it on Shabbos an had to leave it in 770 in order not to carry it.
Drug deal gone bad?????
hay i lost 50 cens in 770
I could use the money
how can it be yours you didn’t give any proof
i lost money on motzy shabbos
How can you contact them? I didn’t lose anything, just wondering…
I could use the extra cash. Only kiddin
Hey if you don’t mind, I’ll share some and give maaser 🙂
The money should be taken to a bank to check if it’s counterfeit. I was once GIVEN counterfeit bills by a local bank – I’m presuming it was an accident !!! If they are real, I certainly hope that the rightful owner reads this.
No one walks around with big bags of cash. Keep trying to find an owner but i think it was meant as a gift to the Shul. make sure it goes to good use, not pockets
In case you don’t find the owner, let me know I can make very good use of it. MH
B”H
It’s green, says in G-d we trust under the USA and has a pic of B. Franklin on it.
Is that good ID. Where can I pick it up?
