A crowd of wine industry professionals and foodies gathered last week for an exclusive food and wine pairing event at Brooklyn’s newest Kosher hotspot, the trend-setting Meat Restaurant in Crown Heights.
Hosted by Carmel Winery of Israel and their US distributor, Royal Wine Corp., wine aficionados mingled with Jewish media personalities and bloggers, enjoying the latest wine offerings from Carmel accompanied by gourmet delicacies.
The evening’s menu was specially crafted for the occasion by Meat’s renowned chef Reem Look, in concert with Carmel’s Chief Winemaker Yiftah Perets.
Guests dined on Meat’s staple dishes such as veal sweetbreads, meat carpaccio, Kubenia, seared duck, Osso Bucco and beef rillettes. They were paired with Carmel’s latest wines, including Sauvignon Blanc, Private Collection Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Moscato.
“The event was planned to celebrate Carmel’s new branding in the US, following its successful launch in Israel, as well as to launch a variety of new wines that will appeal to everyone from the casual drinker to the most discriminating oenophile,” Nadav Arens Arad, CEO of Carmel Winery, said.
“In the past year, we’ve gained 2.5% in market share, for a total of over 30% of Israeli wine sales. In light of the successful launch of our new brand strategy in Israel, and in view of our 2020 planned initiatives in Israel and in the USA, we foresee considerable growth in our future,” he said.
The new branding serves to link the brand values with the winery’s mission “to encourage more ‘wine moments’ on any occasion and to enhance joyful times among family and friends with wines of the highest quality,” he explained. Carmel hopes consumers will easily recognize the newly revamped contemporary logo with the iconic spies image embossed in metal.
