Nearly one year after opening its doors for the spring semester in 2011, the Geshem Career Center in Crown Heights is moving full speed ahead.
This spring, Geshem will offer 5 new and popular courses for its spring 2012 semester: GED COURSE FOR MEN, INDESIGN FOR WOMEN, MARKETING FOR SMALL BUSINESSES FOR WOMEN, NETWORKING + FOR MEN and WEB DEVELOPMENT FOR MEN.
In the past year, the Geshem Center has successfully trained men and women -of all ages- from the community. Armed with the skills that they’ve acquired from our courses, these students go on to develop careers in the fields of their dreams.
One student composed a list of the top 3 reasons why Geshem is specifically geared towards the success of Crown Heights community members:
1. Experienced teachers
Every teacher at the Geshem Center is hired to teach a field that is his or her specific area of expertise. In addition, they are also experienced and certified teachers in their field, so they know how to give over to their students effectively. Students therefore receive top-notch education and training at Geshem.
2. Individualized Guidance and Attention
All classes at the Geshem Center have a great student-teacher ratio. Classes are personalized towards each individual student, and teachers take the time to address everyone’s particular needs. While classes are not too large and impersonal, there is still a great attendance level, which gives students the opportunity to learn and share with each other.
3. Practical hours, location and fees
In order to service everyone in the community, the Geshem Center operates from its centrally located facility, in the heart of Crown Heights. All courses run on nights and weekends, so that those who work, or go to school during the day, can benefit as well. In keeping with the community’s standards, all classes are offered separately to men and women.
The fees for these courses are completely unbeatable – you won’t get these prices for this type of quality training anywhere else.

End comments right there. Well said.
those who need can’t afford them- people complain about all the poor on welfare/food stamps/ etc- fund courses like this one or get grants from the govt so that the poor can get jobs that pay more than the amount they need to pay to their babysitters
